Founder

Gloria Lanuza, Performance artist, educator and producer, dedicated to the importance of global arts as a unifying medium to promote peace and understanding. Since childhood Ms. Lanuza has been empowered by dynamic arts experiences that drive her conviction to pursue excellent craft, authentic representation, and engaging creative esthetic. She knows that a well-crafted performing arts experience can open people’s minds and hearts to begin a dialogue. Gloria believes that the power of creative expression can change the world.

Gloria began her formal dance training as a young child at the San Diego Ballet and the Academia Flamenca. Ms. Lanuza graduated from the San Diego School of Creative and Performing Arts where she focused on dance, martial arts and choral studies. She further enriched her knowledge through intensive training with many master teachers in several global art forms including Flamenco, Spanish Classical and Folk Dance, hand percussion and cante. Gloria also studied, performed professionally, and outside of her family’s music and dance-filled parties, dove into the Latin social dance scene. At the University of California, Riverside, Gloria discovered her love of East Indian, Middle East and North African arts and culture, through her close friends and families from those diverse regions. She became fascinated by the ties these cultures have with flamenco’s dance and music. This new-found appreciation to the roots of flamenco gave Gloria the drive to formally study East Indian Classical Dance forms Bharatanatyam and Kathak, as well as Classic Belly Dance.

Throughout Gloria’s deep dive into global art forms, she continued to foster her technique and performance skills in other genres and has won performance competitions internationally. Gloria maintains her training daily, finds joy in attending diverse classes, and creates opportunities to train and collaborate with her favorite artists from around the globe. Gloria has worked professionally as a featured performance artist and dancer in concert and commercial venues internationally for over twenty years. She also has decades of experience teaching at various international and local dance studios, and for public and private arts education programs. These projects include curriculum building with California Center for the Arts Education “Camp Expresate” and “Broadway Bound” with Scripps Performing Arts, instructor with Malashock’s “Math in Motion”, and as a dance consultant with San Diego Unified School District.

Ms. Lanuza is currently focused on event and concert bookings with her production company “GLO Unlimited” and continues to collaborate with diverse local dance and performance artists. She is excited to begin the revival of “The WAO Experience”, her community building arts collaborative. Gloria teaches private classes, workshops, masterclasses and presents lectures on world art and arts empowerment. Ms. Lanuza is also honored to have joined ASAP (Armed Services Arts Partnership) as their first dance teacher leading the dance program on the west coast. Ms. Lanuza is dedicated to developing engaging and unique approaches of fusing genres and cultures together to create an exhilarating experience in her classes, collaborations, and artistic productions.
